    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar with Tulip Garland.

     

    It is easy to attribute to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Circa 1860, this beauty features a Tooled Rim, and Three Brushed Cobalt Sideways Tulips Executed with Bright and Shiny Cobalt! Stands 11" tall.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the rim, a 1/4" flake on the bottom fold of the rim.  That's it!  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A faint 1" firing line at the base in the making.
