    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Jar with Leaf Garland.

     

    It is easy to attribute to Richard Remmey who ran the family pottery in Philadelphia from the 1860's until the turn of the century (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 8-10).

     

    Circa 1865, this beauty features a Small Size, Tooled Rim, and Six Brushed Cobalt Upright Leaves around the Middle.  Dark and bright cobalt throughout the decoration.  Stands 8 3/4" tall. 

     

    The leaves can be displayed one at a time or two at a time. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 5/8" chip on the top of the rim.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
