    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Blue and White Spongeware Pitcher.

     

    Circa 1870 and made in NE Ohio, this beauty features the 19th Century Pitcher Form with Square Rim, Tall Canted Neck, Ridged Shoulder, Canted Base, Applied Handle, and Cobalt Sponging on White Glaze.  Stands 7 1/4" tall.

     

    Truly classifies as more primitive country spongeware.

     

    Excellent Condition.  A minor 1/8" nibble inside the spout.  Otherwise as made.  Typical manufacturing imperfections.
