    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous 1 Gallon Jar with Freehand Decoration.

     

    Circa 1870 and made in Southwestern Pennsylvania (probably Greensboro), this beauty features Two Stripes Framing the Rim and Shoulder, an Undulating Vine with Center Fushia Filling the Center, and a Wavy and Straight Stripe Defining the Bottom.  All the cobalt is dark and shiny and applied by a very skilled hand.  Stands 9 3/4" tall.

     

    Good Condition. Four minor chips inside the rim (1/8" to 1/4"), nibbles on the bottom fold of the tooled rim (mainly in the back), and a Y-shaped hairline on the back bottom with a tail wrapping 2" on the underside (closeup).  No outer rim or base chips, stains, or restoration.
