    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "Clark and Lundy, Troy." 

     

    This is the work of William Lundy and one of his many partners who operated a pottery in Troy from 1824 to 1828 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 66). 

     

    Lundy's works are uncommon, especially decorated works.  

     

    This beauty features an Ovoid Shape, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tulip.  Stands 13 3/4" tall.

     

    Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the right side of the spout back by the handle, a 1/2" chip on the bottom edge, and staining and surface wear from use.  No hairlines, cracks, or restoration.  Two kiln touches in the making.
