    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."

     

    This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).

     

    Thus beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Cobalt Accents at the Handle Terminals, and a Brushed Cobalt Steeple Flower. The floral sports 6 leaves at the base, and a blossom with 6 sections of descending size.  Stands 11" tall. 

     

    Exceptional Condition. As made. No damage of any kind.  Three kiln marks in the making.
