Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "Cowden & Wilcox, Harrisburg, PA."
 
This is the mark of John Wallace Cowden and Isaac Wilcox who ran the pottery in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania with this stamp from 1863 to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 55-58).
 
Thus beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Brushed Cobalt Tobacco Leaf Decoration.  Stands 13 1/2" tall.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" flake below the decoration.  That's it!  No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
