Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Ovoid Jug made and stamped by "D. P. Shenfelder, Reading PA."
 
This is the work of Daniel P. Shenfelder who potted in Reading from the 1870's to the 1890's (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 21-26).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and one of Shenfelder's signature decoration, Brushed Cobalt Vining with Two Fuchsias. The decoration has 35 leaves and two fuchsia blossoms with 6 petals each. A stripe underscores the decoration.  Stands 13" tall.
 
Excellent Condition. A faint horizontal line in the handle (closeup), and some scattered light staining from use.  That's it! No chips, body hairlines, cracks, or restoration.   Kiln furniture marks and small indentations on the shoulder in the making.
