Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton & Co., Bennington, VT ."
 
This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 43-44).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Stylized Floral in Bright Cobalt Executed with a Slip Cup.  Stands 12" tall.  
 
Good Condition.  A 1" scratch on the right shoulder, and a 5" vertical hairline on the left side that meets a 5" circular hairline on the underside (closeups).  No chips, stains, or restoration.
