    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Pitcher made and stamped by "E. & L. P. Norton, Bennington, VT."

     

    This is the mark of Edward Norton and Luman Preston Norton, the son of Julius Norton, who worked together in the family pottery from 1861-1881 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 44)

     

    This beauty sports the Classic Pitcher Form with Tooled Flared Rim, Sloped Tall Neck, Bulbous Base, and Applied Strap Handle.  The pottery stamp is proudly placed below the spout.  Chocolate Albany Slip Glaze.  Stands 9 3/4" tall.

     

    Exceptional Condition.  As made.  No damage of any kind!
