Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 3 Gallon Crock made for the merchant, "E. R. Lee, Fine Family Groceries, Kittanning, PA."

It was made in SW Pennsylvania, probably Greensboro.

Circa 1880, this beauty is the more uncommon Crock Form with Heavily Groove Rim for Tying a Cover over the Top, a Straight and Squiggle Stripe at the Top, Four Lines of Stenciled Advertising in the Middle, and a Freehand Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves and Underscored by a Stripe at the Bottom.  Light gray glazed and dark cobalt for strong and desirable contrast.   Measures 11" tall and 10 1/2" wide across the top.

Very Good Condition.  Some water glass staining inside from use, a chip on the rim in front of the right handle, and slightly out-of-round in the making.  No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, outer stains, or restoration.
