Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by by the pottery of "E. S. & B., New Brighton, PA."
This is the work of Elverson, Sherwood, and Barker of New Brighton, Pennsylvania. This company was in business from 1881-1890 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners. pp. 140-142).
Dating to the 1880's, this beauty features an Earlier Salt Glaze, the "3" Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves, and the Company Advertising. All the stenciling is complete and dressed in dark cobalt. Measures 10 1/2" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Two small chips on the back at the bottom (1/4", 3/8"). That's it! No rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
