Item 8320
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Edmands & Co."
This is the work of Edward and Thomas Edmands who ran the pottery in Charlestown, Massachusetts from 1852-1868 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 49).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp and a Fancy Little Plant. The decoration is executed with a slip cup and with flare. Overall, a simple, but impressive decoration! Stands 13 3/4" tall.
Very Good Condition. A 1/4" surface ping line on top of the spout and some scattered small nibbles mainly on the back bottom. That's it! No spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Small stone ping by the handle in the making. A faint line 2/3rds of the way across the base of the handle that may be in the firing (closeup).
