Item 8915
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon 3 Gallon Jug made by "Eneix & Frankenberry, New Geneva, PA."
This is the work of James Eneix and Alpheus Frankenberry who joined forces to produce pottery in 1877, but the venture was shortlived, dissolving in 1879 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, p. 165).
Due to the short period of manufacturing, this mark is uncommon.
This jug features teh "Bullet" Shape, Four Stripes at the Top, the Company Advertising in an Arch Surrounding a Tulip in the Center, and a Large Capacity Number at the Bottom. Stands 16 1/2" tall.
Good Condition. A 1/4" chip on the spout and some faint surface age lines on the shoulder. A vertical crack on the right side from near the base up 7" and then left 3" and right 2" (closeups). No base chips, stains, or restoration.
