Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "F. B. Norton & Co., Worcester, Mass." 
 
This is the mark of Frank Norton who operated the pottery in Worcester from 1858 to 1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 52-53). 
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Brushed Cobalt Swirl Floral Decoration. This is one of Norton's signature decorations and the bright cobalt that you come to expect from the Norton Pottery. On the light clay background the decoration really makes for a great contrast and visual appeal.  Stands 14 1/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Some scattered light staining on the left side and back.  That's it!  No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Dry cobalt in the making.
