Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Stoneware Jug with Parrot on a Plume made and stamped by "Frank B. Norton & Co., Worcester, Mass."

This is the mark of Frank Norton and Frederick Hancock who operated the pottery in Worcester using this stamp from 1858-1877 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 52-53).

This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Bright Parrot on a Plume Decoration.  This was one of Norton's signature decorations and is typically found with gorgeous cobalt like this jug exhibits.  In addition, the parrot sports a dotted back and tail feathers.  Stands 15 3/4" tall.

Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" chip inside the spout and a 3/4" chip on the right side of the spout.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A salt drip on the parrot in the making.
