    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this great 1 Gallon Stoneware Jug made and stamped by "F. T. Wright & Son, Taunton, Mass."

     

    This is the mark of the Franklin T. Wright and his son who ran their pottery from 1866 to the 1870's (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 50).

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Brushed Cobalt Bird on a Branch.  Stands 11 7/8" tall.

     

    Very Good Condition.  Three chips on the spout (1/4" to 3/8"), and a narrow 1/4" chip on the shoulder on the right side.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Some small skips in the cobalt and three 1" drying lines on the underside at the edge in the back-- all in the making.
