    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by the "Fort Edward Pottery Co."

     

    This is the stamp of George A. Satterley who ran a pottery in Fort Edward, New York under this stamp from 1859-1861 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, 2nd ed., p. 248). 

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Large Parrot on a Plume Decoration.  Polly is 9" Tall!  The decorator has carefully applied 15 breast feathers to Polly and created a branch for her with 8 leaves and 4 dots.  All the cobalt is thick, rich, and shiny.  Stands 14" tall. 

     

    The decoration indicates that this parrot was made by the decorator who also worked at the pottery of Frank Norton in Worcester, Massachusetts. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  Chipping inside the spout from use with a wooden spigot as shown.  That's it!  no outer spout or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
