Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Crock made and stamped by the "Fort Edward Pottery Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."
This is the stamp of George A. Satterley who ran a pottery in Fort Edward, New York under this stamp from 1859-1861 (William Ketchum, Jr., Potters and Potteries of New York State, 1650-1900, 2nd ed., p. 248).
This beauty features a Semi-Squared Rim, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Bird on a Branch Decoration. Nice dark cobalt. Measures 10 1/4" tall and 11" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Two minor nibbles and a 1/2" chip inside the rim; three 1/4" sliver chips on the front of the rim; and a few scattered, light, and small stains on the back. No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. Some small bubbles in the thickest part of the cobalt in the making.
