Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 1/2 Gallon Butter/Cake Crock made and stamped by "Frank B. Norton, Worcester, Mass."
This is the work of Frank Norton who made stoneware in Worcester 1856-1886 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, pp. 52-53).
This beauty features the Butter or Cake Crock Form, the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and a Large Stylized Floral in Bright Cobalt Blue. Measures 7 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" chip inside the rim. That's it! No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A 3/8" stone ping inside the rim in the making.
