Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "G. Apley & Co., Ithaca, N.Y."
 
This is the work of Griswold Apley who ran the pottery in Ithaca from 1860-1862 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, and Two Brushed Cobalt Tulips.  The two blossoms emerge from a leafy stem and the blossoms have 7 to 8 petals each.   The cobalt is bright and shiny too. Stands 11 1/2" tall
 
Good Condition.  A minor nibble on the spout and some staining near the bottom.  A stone ping below the decoration created a Y shaped hairline whose base runs under and across the base.  Most likely in the making.  No restoration.
