Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Cream Pot made and stamped in "Geddes, N.Y."
The decoration indicates that the jug was made in Geddes (Syracuse, New York) by one of the local potters (Pharis, Shepard, or Hubbell & Chesebro).
Circa the 1860's, this beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "2", and a Large Brushed Cobalt Floral with a Dozen Leaes and a Large Blossom. Brillant Cobalt. Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Some staining from use. Two 1/2" chips on the underside at the edge, with one having a 2 1/2" hairline above it (closeup). No rim chips, cracks, or restoration.
