    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Spongeware Pitcher.  

     

    It is the distinctive work of George E. Glover who worked in Cullman County, Alabama in the 1920's and 1930's (Joey Brackner, Alabama Folk Pottery, pp. 144-45, 230).

     

    This beauty features a Bulbous Form with Slightly Flared Rim, Strap Handle, and Blue Cat's Paw Sponging Around the Shoulder on a Cream Glaze.  Stands 9" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.  Some glaze crazing on one side from age, and two 1/4" chips on the underside at the edge.  That's it!  No rim or spout chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
