Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA." 
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim that Accommodates an Inner Lid, and a Top and Bottom Stripe that Frame Freehand Vining at the Shoulder and the Company Advertising Wrapped in Vining.  Stands 9 3/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition. Minor nibbles on the inner lid seating ring, and some faint staining and wear outside.  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
