Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Jug made by Hamilton and Jones, Manufacturers, Greensboro, PA." 
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, PA from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Squiggle Stripe at the Top, the Company Advertising Surrounding the Capacity Number Flanked by Large Leaves and Accented by Tulips in the Top Corners and Leaves in the Bottom Corners, and a Bottom Stripe.  Additional cobalt at the top handle terminal.  All the decoration is complete, crisp, and in dark cobalt.  Stands .  Stands 14 1/4" tall.  
 
Very Good Condition.  A ping with a spider on the right side towardy the handle (closeup).  Otherwise as made.  Roughness on the top of the spout in the making.
