Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 5 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA." 
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Company Advertising in an Arch Framed Top and Bottom by Ferns, and the Capacity Number framed by Leaves at the Bottom.  Stands 16 1/2" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  Two 3/8" chips on the left handle.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A hot spot on the front bottom and slightly oval on top in the making.
