Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 1 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made by Hamilton and Jones."

This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).

Circa 1880, this beauty features the Company Advertising in an Arch on the top half and a Couple Sheaves of Wheat in an arch on the bottom half forming a Circle with a Rose Floral in the Middle. The floral has three leaves and two roses in bloom. Even has a stripe at the top and bottom. Dark cobalt filling the entire front. Stands 8 1/4" tall.

This is an uncommon stencil that I have seen in the middle of larger jars and on wax sealers, but rarely on a cream pot. Really looks fantastic on this form!

Excellent Condition. Some very light staining. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration. A kiln touch on each side in the making.
