Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this great 1 Gallon Stoneware Cream Pot made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Company Advertising in an Arch Surrounding a Bird in Flight Holding a Garland in its Mouth. Not a common stencil for this maker. Measures 8 1/2" tall and 7 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 3/8" chip inside the rim, and some wear to the cobalt. No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A narrow chip on the bottom edge in the making.
