Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Stoneware Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1870, this beauty features the Company Advertising with Comma Vining at the Top, Two ideways Tulips in the Middle, and Flowering Plants at the Bottom. Bright cobalt on a light gray glaze for attractive contrast. A stronger decoration than is often seen on the small jars by this maker. Stands 10" tall.
Excellent Condition. Minor surface wear. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
