Item 9977
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this uncommon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones, Greensboro, PA ."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, PA from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1880, this beauty features the Grooved Wax Sealer Rim, Tapered Sides, and an Uncommon Fancy and Delicate Advertising Stencil. The company name is intertwined with Vining which swirls around the front. A finely cut stencil with here is complete and crisp in all details. Stands 8 1/4" tall.
I have only ever seen 3 of these.
Excellent Condition. Minor nibbles around the inner rim. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A kiln touch on the right side in the making.
