Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fantastic 1/2 Gallon Stoneware Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Hamilton and Jones." 
 
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Circa 1880, this beauty features a Tooled Rim with Groove for Hot Wax Sealant, the Company Advertising in an Arch on the top half and a Two Sheaves of Wheat in a Reverse Arch on the bottom half that form a Circle with a Rose Floral in the Middle. The floral has three leaves and two roses in bloom. Stands 8 1/4" tall. 
 
Excellent Condition.  A 3/8" chip on the inner rim, some minor nibbles inside the outer rim, and two small stains.  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
