Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Uncommon 8" Stoneware Wax Sealer made by "Hamilton and Jones."
This is the work of Frank Hamilton and John Jones who worked in Greensboro, Pennsylvania from 1865 to 1897 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157).
Circa 1870, this beauty features the Company Advertising in an Arch Over the Sprig with a Rose Blossom and Leaves. Not a common stencil for this maker. Stands 8" tall.
Very Good Condition. Small chips around the inside of the rim and a 1 1/2" surface-only line in the rim on the right side. No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
