Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Haxstun & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."  
 
This is the work of Andrew K. Haxstun who ran a pottery in Fort Edward from 1875 to 1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68). 
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Stylized Floral up the Front created with a Slip Cup in Bright Cobalt.  Stands 13 1/4" tall.  
 
Very Good Condition.  A few scattered light stains, a 3/8" chip on top of the spout, two fine lines in the handle, only one of which goes all the way around (closeup), and a 1" chip on the underside at the edge.  No body hairlines, cracks, or any restoration.  Chips on the right side of the spout are in the making and glazed over.
