    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "Haxstun & Co., Fort Edward, N.Y."  

     

    This is the work of Andrew K. Haxstun who ran a pottery in Fort Edward from 1875 to 1882 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 68). 

     

    This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and Three Large Leaves with Interior Accent Created with a Slip Cup.  The cobalt is bright and shiny.  Stands 13 3/4" tall.  

     

    Excellent Condition. A narrow 1" chip inside the spout.  That's it!  No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  Two 1" glazed surface drying/firing lines in the making- base of the handle and front bottom.
