    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful Two Gallon Crock made and stamped by "Hubbell & Chesebro, Geddes, N.Y."

     

    This is the mark of Charles E. Hubbell and Dennison Chesebro who worked together in Geddes (Syracuse) New York from 1867-1887 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 70).

     

    Dating around 1880, this beauty features a Tooled  Rim and Shoulder, Applied Handles, Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "2", and a Brushed Double Tulip Decoration in Dark and Shiny Cobalt.  Measures 9 1/4" tall and 10" wide across the top. 

     

    Excellent Condition.  A 7/8"chip on the top of the right handle toward the back.  That's it!  No rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
