Item 10756
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped in "Ithaca, N.Y."
The decoration most resembles that of James M. Mott who made stoneware in Ithaca from 1855 to 1860 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 72).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamped Washed in Cobalt, and a Fanciful Freehand Tulip Decoration in Brilliant Cobalt. The tulip has dotted wings! It must have had a can of Red Bull! Measures 9" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. A 1/4" flake inside the rim, a 1/4" chip under the left handle and another with some minor nibbles under the right handle. That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. Some surface drying/firing lines inside in the making, one of which shows 2" on the back (closeups).
