    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "J. A. and C. W. Underwood, Fort Edward, N.Y."  

     

    This duo ran the pottery in Fort Edward from 1865 to 1867 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 88).  

     

    This beauty features a Clear Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and a Folkly Bird on a Branch with Unusually Long Feathers and a Dotted Branch. Stands 14" tall.

     

    Excellent Condition.   Some light staining on the back and a 2" line below the spout on the right side that may or may not be in the making (closeup). That's it!  No chips, cracks, or restoration.
