Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 3 Gallon Jug made and stamped by "J. Burger, Jr., Rochester, N.Y."
 
"This is the work of John Burger, Jr. who ran the pottery in Rochester from 1880-1890 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
 
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash and "3" Capacity Number within the Blossom of a Large Flower.  The flower was created with a slip cup and includes four accented leaves and a blossom with a multitude of petals.  Stands 15 1/2" tall. 
 
Very Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the left side of the spout accompanied by a couple other minor nibbles, and a few light stains.  That's it!  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
