Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer made by "J. E. Eneix, New Geneva, PA. "
This is the mark of James Eneix who made stoneware in New Geneva for the brief period of 1874-1876 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 165). Eneix stoneware is not commonly seen due to the brief period of manufacture.
This beauty features the Tooled Grooved Rim for Pouring Wax to Seal a Tin Lid Over the Top, and the Company Advertising in a Paisley Shape Surrounding a Sheaf of Wheat. The stencil is complete and crisp. Stands 8 3/8" tall.
Very Good Condition. Chipping and wear around inside the rim. No outer rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
