Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "2", and the City Name "Lyons" in Script Riding a Tornado. The script was created with a slip cup in bright cobalt blue. Measures 8 1/2" tall and 10" wide across the top.
Very Good Condition. Two chips on the rim- 1" by the left handle and 1 5/8" on the back. No inner rim or base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
