Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Gorgeous 4 Gallon Stoneware Crock made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."
This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).
This beauty features the Pottery Stamp, Freehand Capacity Number, and a Two Large Brushed Cobalt Tulips with 7 Leaves and Blossoms with 7 Petals Each. Bright and shiny cobalt blue on a light tan glaze for 10 out of 10 on the "eye candy" meter. Measure 11 1/4" tall and 12 1/2" wide across the top.
Excellent Condition. Some residual water glass staining inside, a few glaze flakes around the right handle, and a veritical hairline below the rim and above the base on the back that shows about half inside. No rim or base chips, stains, or restoration.
