    Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 4 Gallon Stoneware Churn made and stamped by "J. Fisher, Lyons, N.Y."

     

    This is the work of Jacob Fisher who ran the pottery in Lyons from 1872-1902 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 74).

     

    This beauty features the Oval Pottery Stamp with Cobalt Wash, Freehand Capacity Number "4", and a Large Brushed Cobalt Iris Decoration.  Stands 6 3/4" tall.  

     

    Excellent Condition.  A narrow 1/2" flake on the inner lid seating ring.  Otherwise as made!  Exceptionally clean- looks like it just came from the kiln.
