Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this rare Stoneware Mini Jug made as a premium for "J. H. Mendel, Dealer in Pure Whiskies, Charleston, W. VA." 
 
It is a rare mini jug.  I have found one other sold in the records.  Also, the merchants of Charleston apparently did not use mini jugs as a form of advertising.  This is the only merchant from that city that has left a mini jug that I can find. 
 
Circa 1900 to 1920, this little gem features a Bordered Label with Four Lines of Advertising, including a reference to Whiskey.  Stands 3" tall.
 
Excellent Condition.  Two pinhead-size nibbles on the spout and three on back at the bottom.  That's it!  No hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
