Item 10277
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this fine 1 Gallon Lidded Jar made and stamped by "J. Heiser, Buffalo, N.Y. "
This is the mark of John Heiser who ran his father's pottery along with his brother Henry from 1848-1857 (William Ketchum, Jr., American Stoneware, p. 75).
This beauty features Albany Slip Glaze, Thick Tooled Rim and Shoulder, and Strong Pottery Stamp. Stands 9" tall. I have fit it with a lid that is a very close match for size and color.
Excellent Condition. Some minor wear on the rim edge on the right side. That's it! No chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A stone ping on the side in the making. The lid is mint.
