Item 10521
Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this Rare 6 Gallon Water Cooler made for "L. Laukota Co., Chattanooga, Tenn."
According to the Chattanooga Daily Times of December 9, 1897, "An Important New Company- The J. Laukota company was incorporated in the city yesterday to engage in the manufacture of fine groceries. This company is the outcome of a very successful business established here last January by Mr. Laukota, who is a most capable manager and wide awake business man. The new company has ample capital and will doubtless engage in the manufacture of specialties on a large scale." A copy of this excerpt will be included with the cooler.
Circa 1900, this beauty features the Company Advertising Scratched on the Shoulder. Stands 18 1/2" tall. I suspect due to its size that it was made for use within the store itself and not sold as a sale item.
Excellent Condition. A chip on the top left corner of the frame to the spigot. That's it! No other chips, or any hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration. A stone ping on the back at the bottom in the making.
