Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."   
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Top and Bottom Stripe that Frame the Company Advertising in the Midle and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves on the Bottom.  Nice contrast between the light gray glaze and blue decoration.  Stands 12".  
 
Very Good Condition.  Some wear to the edges of some letters and some small linear stains on the left side. No chips, hairlines, cracks, or restoration.
