Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1/2 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Wax Sealer Form with Tooled Rim with Groove for the Hot Wax, Rounded Sides, and the Company Advertising Underscored by Two Candles.  Stands 7 3/4" tall.   
 
Excellent Condition.  Three 1/8" nibbles- one inside the rim, one on the bottom ring of the tooled top, and one on the base.  That's it! No outer rim chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  A hot spot on the back with slight bulge in the making.
