Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Wax Sealer Canning Jar made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Wax Sealer Form with Tooled Rim with Groove for the Hot Wax, Tapered Sides, and Top and Bottom Wide Stripes that Frame the Company Advertising Underscored by Two Candles.  Stands 9 3/4" tall.   
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the inner rim, some 1/8" nibbles inside the outer rim, and three small chips on the bottom ring of the tooled rim (1/8" to 1/4").  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.
