Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 2 Gallon Jug made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, Pa."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a "Bullet" Form, Large Emblem at the Top, the Company Advertising in the Middle underscored by another Emblem, and the Capacity Number Flanked by Leaves and Underscored by a Stripe at the Bottom.  Complete and crisp stenciling.  Stands 14" tall.    
 
Good Condition.  A 1/2" chip on the right side of the spout and the back portion of the spout is missing.  No base chips, hairlines, cracks, stains, or restoration.  
 
Ships double-boxed, insured, and FREE
