Coming to you from Doc's Crocks is this wonderful 1 Gallon Butter Crock made by "Jas. Hamilton & Co., Greensboro, PA."  
 
James Hamilton ran his pottery in Greensboro from the 1860's to 1880 (Phil Shaltenbrand, Big Ware Turners, pp. 154-157). 
 
Dating to the 1870's, this beauty features a Squared Rim, Medium Gray Glaze, and a Stenciled Company Advertising around the Front.  Measures 5 1/2" tall and 9" wide across the top.  
 
Excellent Condition.  A 1/4" flake inside the rim.  Otherwise, as made!
